Matt Daly Signs Up For Drag Flicking Masterclass

We are delighted to announce that GB international, Matt Daly, has signed up for our Drag Flicking Masterclass Camp at Surbiton Hockey Club this Easter. The camp, which will take place on Monday 2nd April, is ideal for boys and girls aged 14 to 18 at JAC/JRPC levels and will comprise 3 x 2 hour intense sessions, plus video analysis.

Living Hockey Announces Extra Camp Date This Easter

In response to popular demand we are delighted to announce that we will now additionally be running a 2 day camp at Surbiton Hockey Club this Easter. The camp, for boys and girls aged 7 to 16 years (beginner to advanced), will take place on Monday 2nd and Tuesday 3rd April.

This Easter we are holding two camps at Surbiton Hockey Club. Both our specialist Goalkeeper Camp and Passing, Goalscoring and Drag Flicking International Masterclass will be held on Monday 02 April.

Ali McGregor Joins The LH Team

We are delighted to announce that international goalkeeper and first class coach, Ali McGregor, has joined the Living Hockey team.

The physical education teacher made his international debut against India in 2001 before making his first appearance for Great Britain as a substitute against the Netherlands in October 2007 and in the process became the first Scottish goalkeeper to represent Great Britain in almost 20 years.

McGregor had a stellar season in 2008 and was named Athlete of the Year by Great Britain Hockey. This was after a successful Olympic qualifying tournament campaign in Santiago, Chile as well as a starring role in Beijing as his side recorded their best finish at an Olympic Games since winning the gold medal in Seoul in 1988.

Living Hockey’s Brett Garrard Sees Club Vision Realised

Surbiton hit 1,000 members – how did they do it?

In 2005 Surbiton Hockey Club in Surrey had an established club operating out of Sugden Road with 300 members, which included 110 junior members.Interestingly, when you visit the website you don’t immediately see a section detailing the club history, but what smacks you in the face is an intriguing section called “The Future is Now”.This is interesting to see, the club quite clearly have a vision which is evident within 2 seconds of clicking onto their website.

The club recently affiliated through the annual process to EHB and the numbers they submitted were staggering, not least because they are the biggest hockey club in England, but because their rate of growth has been so large and as far as I am aware, they haven’t miraculously built a new pitch on site since I last visited 3 months ago. So what changed for them to see over 150 new members in a season

We are delighted to announce the dates and times of our 2012 February Half Term Camps. Three camps have been scheduled at Oxford Hawks Hockey Club. Our 2 day Standard Camp will take place on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th February, and both our International Masterclass and specialist Goalkeeper Masterclass will be held on Friday 17th February.
