Now like every other player on the pitch at any one time, goalkeepers make up 9.09% of the team but they will tell you, and field players secretly admit, that they are far more important than that.

To the Living Hockey Goalkeeper Coaches on the other hand, their “art” as they call it, is pretty much 100% of the game and the rest is just needless tippy-tappy in between them saving the game, shortly before they go off and save the world in their spare time.

Taking it seriously doesn’t quite do it justice and when you look at the sorts of coaches we are lucky enough to be able to call on, you can see why. These people have been there, done that and probably own the factory that makes the t-shirts.
